Reminder To Report Failed Acreage To FSA

FSA reminds producers with planted fields that were completely destroyed by the recent storms which included hail, wind, excessive rain, or tornadoes to report the failed acreage to the local FSA office.

Failed acreage claims should be reported to FSA prior to disposition of the crop or planting of a subsequent crop, even if replanting to the same crop.  Producers should also report the failed acreage to their crop insurance agent.  As part of business operations, the FSA office will work with crop insurance personnel in a common effort to assist our producers and share data.  Please contact the Phelps County FSA Office for more information on reporting guidelines for failed acreage.

FSA Accepting Nominations For County Committee Election

The nomination period for local FSA county committees began Sunday, June 15.  Nomination forms for the 2014 election will be accepted for Laird, Sheridan, Rockfalls, Industry and Prairie townships in Phelps County until close of business on August 1, 2014.  Elections will take place this fall.

To be eligible to serve on an FSA county committee, a person must participate or cooperate in a program administered by FSA, be eligible to vote in a county committee election and reside in the local administrative area in which the person is a candidate.  The nomination form and other information about FSA County committee elections are available at the local FSA office or online at http://www.fsa.usda.gov/elections.
