Ashley County Farm Service Agency Announces Deadline to Report Spring Seeded Crop Acreages

The Ashley County Farm Service Agency has announced the deadline to report spring seeded crop acreages is July 15, 2014.  Many FSA programs require all cropland on a farm to be reported in order to earn FSA benefits.  It is extremely important for producers to understand that all fields that are planted by July 15, 2014 must be reported by this date.

Producers should report any prevented planted acreage to the local FSA office when the crop acreage is not planted due to a disaster-related condition.  To be considered timely filed, the prevented acres should be reported no later than 15 days after the final planting date established by Federal Crop Insurance.

Producers should also report failed crop acres when the crop failed due to disaster related conditions.  To be timely filed, the failed acreage shall be reported to FSA before the crop is destroyed.  County Committee review and action is required to receive history credit in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.  The County Committee may require the office to conduct a field visit for crop residue and verification.

Filing an accurate and timely report for all crops and land uses can prevent loss of benefits for future programs.

For more information, visit your local FSA office located at 310 North Cherry St., in Hamburg, AR or call (870)853-9881.
